After six years of “The Telethrion Project” existing in a practical form, in the island of Evia, and it’s numerous educational seminars and activities on sustainability, a need was created for something more, a big celebration, a co-creation.

That need gave birth to the first ever “SPIRAL-KNIGHTS” at 2016, as a way to compress everything that we have learned, came across, or never had the time to see, at the same time and space, connecting them as the different parts of a single way of life.

The Spiral Knights Eco-Fest was created as an important way for sustainability’s expression, in all its forms, that many times is being underrated, the form of a big celebration.
Sustainability is not something that we just do or study but its also a reason to dance and regenerate!
It was a very good start, an experiment and maybe a good playground in order for us to start working on something better.. even bigger.. (photos)

The “Spiral-Knights” of 2016 was only the beginning and it’s preparations will forever be in our memories. It was also the cutting the grass of the area, the learning of the various tools and new knowledge we needed to learn. It was the persistent and hard work of a very small team, it was our happiness watching the people coming the first day and the emotions of watching them dancing the first night in a area that two months earlier there was nothing. On the other hand it was also the challenges of many things we weren’t completely ready for. After that lessons, in 2017 we were more experienced and we had more confidence about what we want to do, so we adjusted and added many new features, we added two more days to name one of the, making the festival a six day event. The truth though is that we weren’t ready for it at all.

None of us estimated that we would all have so many incredible memories, human connections and so much fun! (photos)

The “SPIRAL-KNIGHTS” of 2017 was so wonderful. Having in our mind though mainly the festival’s educational and celebrating aspect, something unexpected happened. The adjusted two more days had a big impact by leaving more space for even more interactions and meetings. We were all staring with awe the level of how close the participants came to each other in only 6 days, creating an active community out of nowhere.

That gave us one extra motivation to continue, so this year recognizing the community aspect of the festival as one of the four main categories that are being unfolding during the festival, we want to see it happening again and do the appropriate moves in order to happen again organically.

A group of 25 people (climbing slowly to 50 at the days of the event) from all over the world has already started to create this years event with imagination and cooperation to pick efficiency!

The “Spiral-Knights” of 2020 will build on the enormous experience that has accumulated from the previous 3 events, creating a new but yet familiar environment.

This years subtitle is “A Celebration of Science, Reason & Sustainability”. We plan to double on more practical sustainability and regeneration issues by organizing fully structured 6 day workshops, in the premises of the festival. Major subjects like Energy and Low Impact Technologies, Eco-Building and Bio-Architecture, Rermaculture and more. Also we will bring more scientifically inclined minds to introduce us to ideas of Science and Reason.

The last 3 days of the event will be to festival we all knew and loved following the patterns of previous years at the Telethrion Mountain.
